Children's Ministry

We reach into the lives of children in our church and community with the Gospel, portray the love of Christ and teach them about their Spiritual gifts and how to use them.

This requires:

  • A completed background check
  • Prepare lesson and teach children 1 time per month.
  • Have a character of integrity in personal life that sets an example for the youth

The basic tasks are:

  • Prepare lesson from the curriculum provided.
  • Serve periodically as a designated facilitator, person available to support teachers and to increase communication with parents.

Concierge Services

We pour out the love of God through five-star hospitality and special services that affirms members and guests of their value to Christ!

This requires:

  • Sunday Service (1 Sunday per month – both 9 and 11 services)
  • All Leaders Meeting 8-10:30 – (2-3 times per year)
  • Special Events (1 or 2 time per year) Starting Point Lunch and Team Night

Arts & Design

These teams and projects glorify, worship, and minister God’s Heart to our world through the human expression of the Arts. We purpose to be wildly creative and innovative to explore ways to communicate Jesus Christ for imaginations to be inspired in awe and wonder. Our arts are expressed in sunday and special services as well as to be used in street ministries and community outreaches.  

Teams, projects, and/or special assignments use:

  • visual art of painting, drawing, graphics, and calligraphy
  • physical art of motion, flags, and ribbons in dance
  • commutative art of drama in skits, plays, & musicals
  • allart forms that may even be unique to skills and talents within you

We believe our Creator, Maker, and Father God created us to create. Today we see the need and call to live every aspect of our lives in-Christ and for Christ and not “of this” world, including creative arts. Join the power of this purpose. 

This requires:

  • These ministries can meet regularly in a month or based on the need of assignment. The ministry assignment dictates the requirement and scheduling practices and rehearsals. Each unique art form requires personal and group skill development, choreography, and / or script writing. The regular connecting with each other should be for spiritual edification and encouragement. 

     

    • 1-2 hrs of rehearsals when preparing for a presentation
    • 2 services to minister within on a given Sunday
    • 2 rehearsals in the week prior to presenting

The basic tasks are:

  • spend attention, time, prayer, word, & recording in The Presence of God
  • open to study, learn, practice, & help others increase giftedness of the art form
  • paint, draw, write, 
  • dance, display energetic motion
  • act, role play

Digital Media Ministry - Photography, Videography and Social Media

We use digital media to disseminate the heart of God to every1one. Ruminating for BCC family in Ames, and reconnecting for BCC family beyond Ames.

This requires:

  • 1 group meeting monthly + 1 Sunday a month taking photos, video, or scribe.

The basic tasks include:

  • Documenting (Personally) Moments that change personal & Family trajectories
  • Documenting (Corporately) Using technology to document and empower supernatural activity in service streets and online.
  • Tasks vary, on Sunday morning either video, photos, camera operation or scribe. In addition there are video/editing projects that make take more time.

MPACT (Ministers, Prayer and Altar Call Team)

We tangibly carry out BCC’s vision and values by being God’s heart to ALL who enter and serve with 5 star hospitality through prayer, alter calls, and ministering.

This requires:

  • Once per month Saturday morning meeting, 1st Sunday of each month at 10:15, following any All Leaders Meeting.
  • Spending some time during the week in prayer for body
  • Approved for team by BCC Pastors.

The basic tasks include:

  • Volunteer on Sunday morning: having the opportunity to volunteer to come up to pray for people when you’re feeling well and able to minister.
  • Keeping the requests that are sent in strict confidence.
  • Committing to pray daily for all requests.

Music Ministry (Gospel Soul Innovators - GSI)

We are a Spirit led family hoping to create a worship atmosphere where ALL people worship God, respond to the Holy Spirit and embrace the Person of Jesus Christ. We endeavor to do so by leading worship in love, humility, authenticity, passion, intimacy and competence.

This requires:

Contingent upon whether or not a GSI member is scheduled to lead worship during Sunday morning service and/or at Every1Prays on Friday nights, weekly time commitments are as follows:

  • 2 hrs at Tuesday night rehearsals
  • 3.5 hrs at Sunday morning worship rehearsal and leading

The basic tasks are:

  • Attend rehearsals
  • Show up when scheduled to lead worship
  • Make time outside of rehearsals to learn songs
  • To worship and magnify God

Production

We are a conduit for the Holy Spirit to flow and move through audio and visual productions by being attentive to detail(s), consistent in performance(s), and acting on what needs done.

This requires:

  • Tuesdays 6:30-8:30pm, Sundays 8:45/9am-12pm
  • ~5 Tuesdays of propresenter training and ~3 months or 6 Sundays of shadowing to become independent.
  • ~6-12 Tuesdays of sound training and 6 months or 12 Sundays of Sound shadowing/training to become independent.

The basic tasks are: (weekly preparation, roles, etc.)

  • Show up on time
  • Be ready to adapt
  • Identify problems and fix them with minimal assistance
  • Familiarity of Sunday songs and singers
  • Make sure all required equipment is set up for given Sunday
  • Knowledge of sound board operation
  • Knowledge of propresenter and keynote
  • Knowledge of general mixing and EQ
  • All set up tasks are in Sound SOP and ProPresenter SOP on iMac

Youth Ministry

Our vision is to develop meaningful relationships with Youth that encourage growth in Christ.

This requires:

  • Meet with youth two Sundays a month. Help shepherd the lives of young people by praying, encouraging, and discipling youth.

The basic tasks are:

  • Complete a background check
  • Have character of integrity in personal life that sets an example for the youth
  • Teach youth on scheduled Sundays.
  • Organize youth events.

Welcome Team

We tangibly carry out BCC’s vision and values by being God’s heart to ALL who enter and serve with 5 star hospitality.

This requires: 1-2 times per month beginning 30 min. before service.

The basic tasks are:

  • Gather Supplies
  • Create a loving and caring atmosphere from the parking lot to the sanctuary for all members
  • Be able to spot and engage in conversation with Guests, present gifts
  • Address people by their names
  • Work together with the team to seat people.
  • Assist with Offering & Communion
  • Attend to members and guests needs during service by providing bibles, handouts, water, etc.
  • Build trust with Guests, receive their connection card upon departure.
  • Send members off at the door and have a blessed week!
