Ezra 1&2 Part 3

Application time.  This is what I call my, “So What?”

These two chapters for me have been about trust.  Who do I trust in?

I am easily tempted to try and make “my own way”.  I have struggled to push myself into positions because of the fear of missing out or missing God.  As I looked at these Scriptures, the Lord spoke very clearly to my heart. “Trust in Me.  I have you and I have this.  My timing is perfect and my will will be accomplished.”

“The heart of the king is in the hand of the Lord and He turns it wherever He wishes.” Proverbs 21:1  My role in this is to surrender and trust.  Trust in the Lord’s promises.  Trust in His goodness.  Trust in His faithfulness. Trust in His love.  Trust in His Word.  I have had to lay down my plans, my ways, my will.  Over and over again.  Sometimes moment by moment.

The Word of the Lord will be fulfilled!  His Word will be accomplished.  As the hands and feet of Jesus in this world, I am called to surrender to the Lord’s will and way.  The Lord has stirred up my heart.  In this time and in this place.  He has called me to “reenter” into the land and to be one of the re-builders.  So I am stepping out in faith, believing that His Word will be fulfilled in His perfect timing.  Has He stirred upon your heart?  Have you been called to “reenter”?  Have you been called to re-build?

My action point is to align my prayers with the Word of God.  The simplest way I do this, is through opening the Scriptures daily, reading and praying God’s Word back to Him as a remembrance.  Does the Lord forget His Word?  No.  But I do, easily.  I Chronicles 16:12  Tells me, to remember the wonders He has done for me.  Psalm 77:11 challenges me, to remember the deeds of the Lord.  And every opportunity that we have to celebrate communion, we are called to take it, “in remembrance of the Lord Jesus”. Luke 22:19 and 1 Corinthians 11:24-25  And so I remember and pray.

Join me as I pray Ezra 1:1&5.  Lord, Your Word tells us that the heart of the king is in your hand.  So, just as you stirred up the heart of King Cyrus, to do your will and fulfill your Word, we are asking that You would stir up the heart of our president and those in authority to be in accordance with Your will and ways.  Move on our behalf Father.   I ask also for Your people to be stirred up to obedience to Your Word.  May we desire the things of God and may You provide for our every need, spoken and unspoken.  Send an awakening Lord and let it begin with us.

I would love to hear your “so what?”  How is God moving in your life as you open His Word?

In Christ,

Laura
